Rajasthan's famed Golden - Blue City
The fabled city bathed in blue, is viewed at its spectacular best from the looming Mehrangarh Fort.

Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur crowns a rocky hill that rises 400 feet above the surrounding plain, and appears both to command and to meld with the landscape. One of the largest forts in Rajasthan, it contains some of the finest palaces and preserves in its museum many priceless relics of Indian courtly life.

"Elusive beautiful indigo blue ink-spill patterned buildings make picture-perfect Jodhpur"
Jodhpur is one of the most amazing cities in India for one peculiar reason. It’s a blue city! Over half of the houses in Jodhpur are painted blue, have a blue roof or blue ornate doors. However, it isn’t just the blue vibes this city a must visit destination.
Jodhpur on a Bike
There’s a lot to explore in the blue city of Jodhpur, and there’s no better way to do it than on a motorcycle. Begin at Rao Jodha’s Mehrangarh Fort and get to know more about the history and architectural style of a fort that, legend has it, led to Jodhpur being plagued by drought after a hermit who lived here cursed it. Stop at the beautiful white-marble Jaswant Thada before you walk over to the tiered gardens and small lake before heading down to the historic Ghanta Ghar (clock tower). Sadar Bazar, the bustling local market near the tower, is filled with little shops of traditional jewellery, bright clothes and innumerable eateries; you’re bound to stop for longer than a couple of minutes.
Move on to Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the world’s largest private residences, still home to the erstwhile royal family for a quick walk around the gardens and museum before you head back.
Mehrangarh Fort Museum
The Museum is divided into galleries showcasing various artefacts like elephant howdahs (seats that would have been used to ride elephants), palanquins (covered day beds used to transport the nobility), as well as paintings, turbans, textiles, armour and wood crafts.
Sunset view from the Fort

You've to find a rooftop to watch the magic happen - We went over the top of the Fort, and you have Jodhpur city directly in front of you. It was a great spot to watch the sunset while the whole city was set a golden glow.
Hostels & Resturants
For something a little more upscale, Zostel is a very popular choice for sunset drinks. This property is located just north of the Clock Tower & restaurant is a bit further away from the fort, so you don’t get those close up views, but it’s a nice little splurge. The setting is beautiful, the service is impeccable.
